Bring value and demonstrate commitment to the two most important
assets of your program: your parents and your staff.
At PARENT COACH TRAINERS ACADEMY we believe one key to a residential program’s effectiveness is demonstrated staff skills. The
PCTA is dedicated to supporting programs and schools by providing specific skills training for staff who are working with parents of students.
As a way to empower parents of struggling teens and young adults, many organizations are finding coaching to be a valuable addition to their program.
PCTA coach training for staff is offered in two formats: the ICF approved 21-week teleclass leading to the designation Certified Parent Coach and the
two-day, on-site
“Five Critical Skills for Coaching Parents of Struggling Teens and Young Adults.”
Benefits of the Five Critical Skills trainings for schools and programs:
• Professional, skills-based communication with parent clients
• Immediate application of learned skills
• Continuing education and development for key staff
• Greater retention of clients
• Less parental demands on direct care staff
• Value-added for staff
• An assessment tool for measuring staff skill level
“Five Critical Skills for Coaching Parents of Struggling Teens and Young Adults"
is a workshop highlighting the most effective and useful skills for coaching parents. Workshop content is from the 21-week certification teleclass. During the two-day training, participants will have the opportunity to role-play, as well as act as observer during classmate’s role playing. Participants will benefit from real time critiquing and feedback.
